It had been a long time since the mare had wished for company. She could soar with the birds and run with the wolves or even the deer, but equine companionship was something she rarely kept. Today it seemed like Carmen would be nowhere to be found, though she could just be found everywhere. An eagle soared through the sky, flying overhead of some nothing below. A meadow laid beneath in the darkness a few trees lined the lands soaring to the ground the eagle hummed above the earth for a few seconds. Galloping out from behind the shadowed line of trees the Spanish mare’s black legs moved through the darkness with ease. Bright pink eyes stared out at the meadow around her black and white body.
Black legs moved like shadows in the darkness, muscles under her white coat flexed and moved as she slowed her gallop into an easy lope. Flowing movements in a few easy three beat steps slowed to an easy high stepped trot through the white powdered dying grass. Her hooves left a clear trail from where she came, though it was rather clear they came from absolutely nothing. Bright almost fluorescent pink eyes stared out into the darkness. Slowing her easy gait to a walk then stopping as her black lips lowered to the ground, nostrils taking a deep breath of the dead vegetation at her feet.
The meadow seemed as peaceful as always, with each breath taking in the scents of the many that had been here before. This land seemed fairly common, many scents of all kinds rested here. Snorting her cool breath made the snow fly up from the grass. Her dark tipped ears flickered around listening to all she could, small silver like hoops resting quietly over her ear as they flickered about. Black tail flicked over her white body as her lips moved up from the ground and her head resting in an easy position as her pink eyes shot around looking for some kind of company. For once she set out for equine company, something she hadn’t help in a long time.

WindsorAnd if Only I could. Make a deal with God, And get him to swap our places.... Be running up that road Be running up that hill Be running up that building. The big bay mare wasn't really sure what she was looking for in the meadows. A friend? A fight? A stallion? No, she wasn't necessarily looking for a stallion today. Although, if one came along...who knows. She was looking for something more permanent than what she had. She needed a home. She needed some place that she could call her own, a place where she could stay and not worry about anyone. She wanted a place where she could be and not have to worry about stallions or mares, or anybody pestering her without her consent. It was downright irritating. Snorting, she meandered along, minding her own business when she saw another horse; a mare. A black mare, Spanish by the looks of her, and even from here, Windsor could tell that she had bright...pink eyes. Sort of fleshy looking to Windsor. It was rather unnerving, and as the mare surveyed her through dark green eyes, she felt a tingling sensation throughout her body. She snorted. Who was this mystery mare? Did she have a home? Was she friendly, or was she looking for a fight. Ears back, but not aggressively, Windsor decided to make her way towards the mare. She didn't really know why, she just felt like it. It seemed like an interesting turn of events for her. She picked up a steady canter as she made her way towards the other horse, and slowed as she came close, stopping some ten feet away. Normally, Windsor wasn't the one to start the conversation, but today, she decided to shake things up a little bit. "Hello," she asked dryly. "What brings you here this cold winters morning?" she asked. She decided to leave it at that. Windsor never announced herself with a name, she was always very conservative until she knew that was the course of action she wanted to take. Snorting slightly, the dim light barely catching her thin, nearly transparent horn, she swished her tail back and fourth slowly a few times. All the while, Windsor studied the mare. She was obviously not a normal beast, black and white, and pink eyed. Windsor didn't know what she could do, but she was ready to fight if it wasn't good. However, they were in Amun, the odds were against anything that wanted to hurt Windsor. Though she could take care of herself, Windsor hated going up against other powers. She felt like it was an unfair advantage that they had. muse; good notes; rawr, kinda short but will get better

Ringed ears moved slightly as the sound of another horse cantering towards her. Picking up her black and white head from under black rings of her winter coat her pink eyes watched the larger bay mare. When she came close Carmen took her time to eye the mare down, holding her head up as she watched. Carmen was always prepared, though it seemed like she had a bit of san upper hand, then again the mare had the horn, and she had no idea what that did. The black and white mare thought for a moment then her ears flickered about, the two metal rings rather silently clicking together as she locked her ears on the bay. ”Looking for some company I guess.” The female’s voice was soft thought had a slight devilish tone to it. The six year old mare was a risk taker, but this didn’t seem to be a time for risks.
”Carmen is the name. I’ve just really been roaming the lands of Amun. Half looking for a home, part just looking for company and enjoying my alone time.” Carmen couldn’t really say she was a fighting type. Sure she took risks and had a bit of a devilish side but she was looking for more of friends than anything. For spending so much time in the company of other types of animals it was good just to have the company of another horse, regardless of how nice she was or not.
Snorting the mare’s pink eyes continued to study the other mare. Hoping she was more of a friendly type than the other, sure this was Amun, but there was always those that weren’t as neutral as some. Sure Carmen wasn’t the most neutral some days but she had a good side, much greater than the bad in her. Dark legs shifted under the near white mare as she stood, black nose taking in the scent of the other horse for future reference.

WindsorAnd if Only I could. Make a deal with God, And get him to swap our places.... Be running up that road Be running up that hill Be running up that building. The mare seemed friendly enough. She spoke what appeared to be her mind, and she was looking for what Windsor was seeking as well. She introduced herself as Carmen, and Windsor noticed the rings in her ears. How very unusual. Windsor nodded. So, she too was looking for a home. Windsor had been seeking a permanent place to call home, but only halfheartedly. She had mostly just been wandering through the territories of Amun, like Carmen. They made quite a pair. As she spoke, Windsor caught something in her voice, an almost....mischievous sort of tone. See seemed quite friendly, but like her, wary of another creature whose power was unknown. Understandably, being wary of a unicorn, if Windsor could be called that. Her horn was so narrow, it was near impossible to see, except that it always seemed to catch the light. However, despite it's frail appearance, it was near indestructible. "I have been doing likewise," Windsor said. "Perhaps we could wander together? I haven't had proper companionship in quite some time. My name is Windsor," she said carefully. She hoped that Carmen would accept her invite to travel together, as though they had just met, Windsor had a good feeling about the mare; she felt that this horse would not be an enemy to her, and that she would be a good traveling companion. Windsor hoped she was a horse that looked to be trusted, as she dearly longed for somebody to talk too. After all, it had been such a long time. A gentle breeze rustled the grass, dropping the already cold temperatures even colder, but the big bay mare did not flinch. As she looked up at the sky, she noticed the gray clouds being brought closer by the wind. A proper snow storm was on the way, as there was already a bit of snow on the ground. However, it would not arrive for some time, and Windsor didn't mind, she liked the snow. Snow was a challenge, it was dangerous, but it was so beautiful. Even when it came up past her knees, and caused for food to be scarce, Windsor loved the hard conditions that winter brought. It made her feel like the tough survivor, like she was meant to be here. It drove her to go on. muse; alright notes; baah, lol sorry for the wait. xD

Carmen stood watching the bay mare through her pink eyes, her ears listened to everything the bay had to say. It would be nice to have some company, but sometimes Carmen did like flying with the birds and roaming with the wolves. Maybe she had to spill the beans on her own powers to figure out if she could actually spend time with this mare. ”Well Windsor, it is a pleasure to meet you. Thought I go have to ask about that thin little horn on your head. You tell me yours, I’ll tell you mind kind of deal.” Of course Carmen didn’t need her to tell her, she could simply shift into the bay mare and figure it out for herself. That really wasn’t a moral thing to do though, and if she wanted to trust the mare and vice versa it would be good to simply tell each other.
She noticed the horn was only really visible in the right shine of light. Tilting her head slightly she caught a glimpse of the thing again before shaking her head and focusing on the mare again. It was clear that they were on the same side, but Carmen had issues with other horses trusting her. It was more than possible for her to shift into a very large predator and attack another horse if all else failed, but Carmen wasn’t really a killer fighter type. She was extremely curious of the horn she only caught glimpses of, she gathered the mare was just as curious about her than she was. In her head she guessed what the mare’s powers were, but they were just her own silent ramblings in her own head. ”I agree with your lack of companionship, well equine companionship at least. It would be nice to have some company, hopefully we can understand one another.” A smile peaked the mare’s black lips, the Spanish horse had odd markings yes, and hell the pink eyes were something new. Carmen had seen all types of horses from the skies, from the shadows.
