[ooc; I'm going to say this occurs after the thread with Anubis. Thank you, liquid time :D]
Something would happen today. Spectrum could just tell.
Ever since his meeting with the mighty Anubis, he had felt like an electrical storm was brewing in his head. His power was gathering, especially since lately he hadn't had an opportunity to use it. He felt as if he could weave an epic tale...or the most complex of nightmares, if it came to that.
He needed mares. Badly. He wanted to spread his seed and exert his influence on the beautiful bodies, minds, and souls of females. Being a leader was his calling, he just knew it. And what a father he'd make! Bedtime stories would come to life before their very eyes.
Of course, it wouldn't hurt to have a few lieutenants either; stallions who were physically strong but mentally weak enough to be kept under his thumb. The last thing he wanted was for his authority to be challenged. He didn't think he could handle such an insult!
He knew that there were wanderers out there, both mares and stallions; horses that desperately needed guidance and protection. He could provide that. So long as they followed his laws, they would be given the greatest of lives.
Daydreaming of his bright future, Spectrum jogged trough the scraggly underbrush, hardly aware of the snow that had begun to fall: wet flakes clung to his mane and moisture gathered on his whiskers. Clouds swirled overhead in a fantastic display of celestial might, and the trees whispered their secrets among themselves.
Something is coming. Or someONE.....
Who would it be? What would begin on this winter's day? Whatever it was, Spectrum would be ready for it. His body with strong and masculine, his mind was sharp, his power a storm cloud ready to unleash beauty and fury in equal measure. He felt that his life was finally beginning. Who knows what could emerge from the trees?

Eli's long legs carried his spindly body over the undergrowth, winding himself a path through the dark pines. His brown and dark brown body was camouflaged fairly well, but his bright golden eye and bright red hair blew any cover he could have hoped to possess.
Cheep sat atop his withers as he plodded through the terrain, his slender legs arching and popping over tree roots or bushes. He held his tail high in an attempt to keep it as clean as possible. His build was quite shameful, so he figured he could at least keep himself looking clean and presentable. He wasn't one of those stallions that could look tough and handsome no matter how much mud was caked onto their bodies.
Suddenly he threw his head up, ears pricked forward as the sound of hooves made their way into his hearing range. His ears swiveled atop his head as he tried to locate the source of he sound, but the trees of the forest were throwing it around so much, he was having a hard time pin-pointing it.
So instead, he just back back the way he came, attempting to shield himself behind a particularly close-growing bushel of trees. As he was peeking around the edge of the tree, he could feel Cheep fluttering up from his withers to sit between his ears, forcing them to sit sideways making him look sillier still. With a loud chirp from Cheep, Eli spun his head around and nearly jumped out of his skin to see a bigger, obviously stronger stallion making his way toward them.
He gulped down a ball of fear, and stayed where he was, wondering if the stallion would pass them by or interact. And if he chose to interact, would he be friendly or threatening? Eli could only hope it didn't become dangerous.

As Spectrum wound his lean body through the trees, he began to sense a presence nearby - no doubt the something/someone that he had known to be coming. And, sure enough, the smell of another horse (a stallion, he noted with a sigh) soon wafted into his nostrils. He followed it at a sauntering walk; he was in no rush. Whoever this was wasn't going anywhere. Fate and the forest - no, the wood - held them there, ready for him.
Soon he saw the frame of the newcomer exposed in chinks through the tree trunks. He perked his ears and broke into a trot until he was only a view yards away and in clear view of the stallion.
For a moment, Spectrum just stared at Eli, head cocked like an inquisitive dog's. Then, his lip began to quiver. His eyes narrowed. He stretched his neck down...
And burst out laughing.
His laugh was a mighty thing, almost a bellow. Trying to gather his composure, he spluttered, "Oh shit, I'm - I'm sorry, son. It's just...is that a BIRD on your head?" He snorted and tossed his head in mirth.
More composed, he drew himself up and said, "Ahem; excuse me. That was a brief lapse in composure. I am Spectrum, and I am king of this land. Was business have you here, small stallion? Or are you a colt?"
He briefly considered using his power to enhance his appearance before the stallion, but then decided not to. The poor little bastard was pathetic enough without having his mind twisted and deceived. He didn't want to chase him off; he might be a valuable student, given the right teacher...
Spectrum could be that teacher, perhaps. The young man could be useful...and perhaps even pleasant. Any horse that carried a songbird around on his head had to be good for one's psyche.

[ooc- thought I'd bring in Deradon now ;; Note*- when he turns invisible there are no smells, hoof prints, or any sign of him. Besides the noise he might make bumping into something or talking;;] The enormously large percheron continued to walk in the moonlit wooded area. The annoying sounds of others in the distance had his ears pinned slick to his neck. One of them was laughing. A joyous sound that had Deradon's head spinning. He'd shove his hoof down the throat of the laugher if he could. "Shut up! You ignorant brats!" the voice bellowed loud through the forest. His voice was devilish, cold, hard; all out deep. He was heading in their direction but had yet to see them.
The black beast quickly shifted invisible and every sound of his hooves disappeared. Every sight of his massive body gone. As he walked into the area that they conversed. Being invisible was good so the stallion decided to give them a fright. "I believe that is a colt dumbshit." he bellowed again. The only thing that you could tell was there was the fact that he slowly began to lean on a weak tree. As the tree bent a bit from his massive 19hh size, pure power, and nothing but muscle weight. He was invisible and there was nothing you could do to change that.

[ooc; this should be fun...I haven't had the chance to write Spectrum angry yet. >:3]
When Deradon first spoke it came only as garbled echos through the trees; but even without hearing the words the anger of the speaker was clear. Spectrum's ears pinned back hard on his skull and he swiveled his head around in the direction of the offender. He let out a warning call: "BEWARE YE WHO ENTER HERE WITH MALICE; I AM KING AND I WILL CAST YOU OUT!" These words were spontaneous, unrehearsed, but Spectrum was feeling angry and in his anger there was no need for planning.
He glanced back at the scrawny stallion with the bird on his head. Through his anger he felt a touch of concern for the boy; what if the asshole invading his territory decided to hurt him? No doubt this worm was here intending violence for the sake of violence, and those types always went for the weakest beast they could find. Well, no time to think of this now: whoever had called out in malice had to be coming closer...though strangely, Spectrum could neither smell him nor hear his footfalls...
Speaking to Eli, Spectrum said through gritted teeth, "I apologize for the interruption in our introductions, boy. Just stay here and wait for this little...issue...to be taken care of. Don't. Go. Anywhere!
Suddenly, the angry voice came from shockingly nearby; tearing the silence in half, seemingly from now source at all. Insulting him! Spectrum whirled round and round, snorting, growing angrier ever second he couldn't locate the intruder. A red haze was growing in front of his eyes. He would would tear this bastard in half...if only he could find him!
"Show yourself, intruder!" he roared, "Show your bastard self to me and I will rip your tongue from your smart-ass mouth!"

[[ooc: You skipped me ;A;....]]
Eli jumped a bit in surprise as the bellowing laugh burst from this strange stallion's maw. His golden eyes widened in surprise, but when the stranger began to speak, he felt himself relax a bit and stand up a little straighter. He squared his scrawny shoulders and said in a stuttering voice that dripped with fake confidence, "H-his name is Cheep."
His ears flipped forward, earning him an unhappy chirp from Cheep as the motion tossed the little backward and the avian had to settle on the young stallion's withers once more. He listened to the sudden change in the larger stallion's tone and even mannerisms. H-he's the king? he thought to himself with a slight panic.
"My apologies your majesty," he said quickly, bowing his head nervously before standing tall again. "I'm..I'm a stallion. I'm six years of age..." he told him, averting his eyes in humiliation. he knew he was scrawny, but a colt? Really? He had hoped at least his height of 16hh would make up for some of it.... "I don't mean to intrude, I've been wandering around, looking for someone." He said quietly.
Just as his sentence finished, a booming voice made him jump clear out of his skin, sending Cheep flying in to the air, forced to land on a branch above them, fluffing his feathers out in an irritated manner.
Eli barely heard Spectrum's words. His heart was pounding in his chest, his muscles tensed, his nostrils flaring. His eyes were open wide as he searched for some clue of the source of such a voice. He was assuming that it had to be a large, fearsome brute to have uttered such a sound.
His senses were eon high-alert. His power was brimming at his throat, waiting to be used.
The creak of a tree. yet another booming call, this time from right next to the two stallions, and Eli spun about, erupting. His sonic screech burst from his throat and maw as he back into a tree and pushed off of the ground, landing himself right behind Spectrum, keeping the larger stallion between himself and the unseen enemy.
Birds - including Cheep - flew away, their frightened calls mingling in the air with the echo of his scream. The rushing sounds of the undergrowth around them filled with the sound of deer, wild pigs and other woodland creatures fleeing from the sound.
He felt his body grow hot with humiliation. But - despite Spectrum suddenly being in a red-hot rage - he felt safer behind the stallion. So he watched, eyes wide with fear.

Deradon completely ignored them and stared at the childish colt that was so obviously scarred. The fact the child ran around behind the small Akal Teke king was halarious. Deradon outstood, out muscled, and out smarted them. The large 19 hands high stallion made his self visible as he come right next to Spectrum who kept circling himself. "What are you going to do small king? Protect the coward behind you!" Deradon laughed. As his booming voice echoed through the trees once more right before his evil laugh engraved in the trees.
He gave a flash of eyes to the scarred, shuttered stallion, standing behind Spectrum. A look that could kill. It was a terrible look. A cry of hatred. A spew of fun. Deradon would have much fun torchering the colt once he took this territory for himself. It wouldn't be long before he built up his own army to invade the Sekhmet Groves.
The massive Percheron stallion lifted a large round hoof and then slammed it to the earth again. He felt the own shock, the shaking, in his hind hooves. So they must've felt it at the very least the small childish one, Eli, would have felt it at the very least. And as Derdon stood there right infront of Spectrum he leaned forward as if to stand over the small thing. With one kick he could Spectrum flying, and more than likely it would be a fatal blow. According to reality.

[[ooc; So sorry Anti! Was under the impression, for some reason, that the order would be me, you, deradon, me, you, deradon, etc.... ;_;]]
When Eli screamed, Spectrum's ears pinned back even flatter against his head, if such a thing was even possible. For a moment, his rage turned to Eli, and he gathered his haunches to kick the stallion as he skittered behind him. Luckily, his voice of reason screamed loud enough to be heard over the thundering rage in his head: No! He's the one you're supposed to be protecting!
When Deradon showed himself, a flutter of panic burst forth in Spectrum's chest: this brute was MASSIVE. Far larger than any horse he had ever come across before. There was no way he would ever beat him in a physical fight - his skull would be cracked before he could even draw the other's blood. His only hope was his mind, his voice, and his power.
"Eli!" he barked, "Stand back in that thick grove; it will be hard for a cumbersome brute like this to slip through the brambles as you can. Do not be afraid, I can deal with this."
Spectrum raised his head and forced himself to look into the Percheron's hateful eyes; they were terrible to behold, utterly flat and soulless, void of any empathy.
Gathering all of his strength, Spectrum attempted to use his power on him. He reached out the invisible tentacles of his mind and grasped Deradon's, praying that he would have the might to penetrate this monster's thick skull. He wouldn't know if it worked before he tried and gauged the victim's reaction...
Gripping Deradon's psyche, he attempted to give the brute the powerful illusion of shrinking; if this worked Deradon would see trees expanding and elongating before him, Spectrum's face going up, up up, further and further away from him. It wouldn't be real but if the mental telegraph got through, it would give him a hell of a shock...
[[ooc; tay, it's up to you whether Spectrum's illusion attempt works or not.. ;)]]
