alias. ANUBIS years. SEVEN heritage. AKHAL-TEKE sex. STALLION region. OSIRIS
facade. Anubis has the classic build of his breed – a tall, lanky body standing seventeen hands high, and a great portion of that is his lengthy legs. He has a long, sloping back accentuated with a dorsal stripe, though he is not a true dun. Anubis is rather a muted bay, of sorts, giving him a dusty appearance despite his natural sheen. His lower limbs, mane, tail, and muzzle are all black, but his hooves remain the color of the sands he lives on. This stallion is not an overly dazzling sight like many of the masculine equines around these realms. He bears no horns or wings. However, where normally there would be chocolate eyes, Anubis’ are a blazing golden color, as are the inner hairs of his ears. The stag also has golden rings tightly bound to both his upper limbs and around each fetlock.
persona. Anubis is neither good nor evil. He is not talkative or a sociopath. Rather, this stallion’s persona tends to follow the middle ground on many of his attributes. But, it can still easily be said that he is an odd fellow. Anubis is extremely intelligent, and he would much rather use brains instead of brawn when it comes to dealing with those of his own gender. His intelligence, though never-failing, can often times make him a bit of a disturbing encounter, for he often wanders around having discussions with himself, or his mind will wander without warning outside the conversations being held. His eyes only heighten this further, for they always stare instead of merely glance, and his intensity may, at times, be off-putting.
However, without his abnormalities, Anubis is fairly easy to get along with. He avoids those who keep to the narrow path of righteousness, however, and is much more interested in those who wander off the beaten path. Anubis has also been a successful leader of his desert terrain for a number of years now, and though it took time for him to settle into the position, he has become a talented and trustworthy leader. He is sly and observant, manipulative when he needs to be, and is perfectly capable of defending his harem, but he is also kind to those he leads. Rather, Anubis makes it quite clear to the other stallions of Osiris that he holds quite a large amount of disdain for those who abuse their harems, for what is power without the proper collection of many minds instead of one?
ability. Anubis has the skill to speak to crows. They are familiars to him, of sorts, and he keeps a number of them as companions as well as others for gathering information from the outside world.
history. Anubis does not have a particularly interesting history. He was raised by a dam and sire of an earlier generation in a region not far from his present-day desert. When it came time to set off on his own, the Akhal-teke did so without harassment. Though the colt had been looking forward to solitude, however, the silence around him slowly became a disturbance instead of a comfort. Anubis had settled into an empty region in the deserts along a small strip of habitable sands, his shelter from the scorching sun an enormous, naturally wind-carved cave. It was quite a normal day, with the young stallion resting in the shadows, when a raven landed on a nearby boulder, and he realized, with perhaps some level of insanity, that he could understand the bird. Since that day, he has used the creatures as company in times of loneliness, though once he reached of age, Anubis was quite capable enough to gather his own harem to keep him company instead.
Of course, that didn’t stop him from speaking to the crows on occasion.
